Operation Homefront selects three military families for


SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Meritage Homes (NYSE: MTH) and Operation Homefront today announced that three deserving military families have been selected for the Veterans Permanent Residence Program. Everyone will receive a new, energy-efficient, mortgage-free home. Homes are located in Houston, Nashville and Tucson, and families will receive keys to their new homes in early November, just in time for Veterans Day and Military Family Appreciation Month.

NCO 2n/a Class Lieutenant Nicole Henderson retired in 2022 after a 13-year career in the United States Navy. She and her daughter will receive a three-bedroom home over 1,800 square feet in the community of Sierra Vista, 25 miles south of metro Houston. The home will bring them closer to loved ones and to the Texas Children’s Hospital where her daughter is receiving treatment.

Army Spc. Carlos Rodriguez-Velazquez left his home in Puerto Rico to join the military. He was stationed at Fort Campbell and completed a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan during his more than three years of service. He and his family will receive a four-bedroom home of over 1,800 square feet in the community of Waltons Grove, 20 minutes from downtown Nashville. He and his wife are delighted to provide their three children with the stability they need to thrive.

Army Sergeant. Charles Haney medically retired from the military in 2009 after five years of service, including a deployment to Iraq. The family will receive an almost 2,400 square foot, four-bedroom home located in the Entrada Del Rio community outside of Tucson, AZ.
